My 25 Favorite Disney Things #14

Wow...I can't believe it's already December 12th!  Where has this month gone..........actually where has this year gone?  Now I know what my Mom meant when she told me not to "wish my life away."  It goes way too fast as it is!
So, here we are at the #14 pick on the list of my 25 favorite things at Walt Disney World.  Let's get going.....this is a good one!

#14- Wild Africa Trek!

We totally enjoyed this tour, and look forward to doing it again some day.  Yes, it is expensive, but so totally worth the money!

Disney says this about the trek:
" A cheetah poised on a boulder in Safi River Valley at Animal Kingdom theme park

A Thrilling Safari Adventure

Roam the wild on this 3-hour safari across Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park for just $189, plus tax! The Wild Africa Trek offers Guests of all ages the perfect opportunity to explore the Safi River Valley and discover animals of nearly every variety in an uninhibited, natural environment.
The Journey
See yawning hippos and hissing crocodiles just 10 feet below as you make your way across a shaky rope bridge, secured to an overhead track with a safety harness. Ride in a rugged safari vehicle over an open savanna teeming with native African creatures—from towering giraffes to powerful rhinos.
On your journey, your knowledgeable guide will share little-known insights on the majestic animals on view as well as the general operation of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.
And as if your trek weren’t memorable enough, you’ll receive a complimentary souvenir as well!
Complimentary Photo Services
A trained photographer will take pictures throughout the adventure—a service that’s included with the cost of your tour. While you enjoy close encounters with the animals of the Harambe Reserve, the photographer will capture all the action and excitement.
At the end of your expedition, you’ll receive a photo code that you can use to access and download images taken during your Wild Africa Trek experience.
Please note: Wild Africa Trek requires a separate admission ticket to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park."

I could not have put it better myself....other than it's an experience that changed our lives!  We look back on this experience with very fond, and some funny memories.  (Mostly funny because of some of the people in our group!)
There are weight limits, and you do need to be in fairly good physical condition.  Even though I have a fear of falling, I did do really well on the rope bridges.  I was the first one of the 12 in our group to cross.  I was very proud of myself.
Below are some of the pictures I took, and some that were taken of us.  Enjoy!

The group at the beginning.....ready for an adventure!

The tasting of African foods was a nice treat.  I liked all of it but the dried meats.  I gave those to Paul.  My favorite was the yogurt and granola, fresh fruit, and the fig cake.

The group at the end..............we all survived!  Our guides Amanda and Julie were awesome!

Join me again tomorrow when we reveal my #13 pick!  It is an attraction, as the next several shall be!
See ya then pal!
