FOODIE FRIDAY! A Delightful Meal At The Plaza Restaurant

Our first night at Walt Disney World took us to Magic Kingdom, a norm for us. We usually head straight for Pirate of the Caribbean, but my all time favorite attraction was down for a fairly lengthy maintenance when we were there.  Just another excuse to go back I say!

Anyway, we had a Fast Pass to see talking Mickey Mouse.........and I love him!  After this, we headed over to the Plaza Restaurant.  The storms were moving in..... (storms that would prevent me from Periscoping Wishes later that evening.)  The fireworks show went off as usual even in the downpour, but I could not take a chance on wrecking my phone, so that was the first of a few trip glitches.

We went over to the restaurant a little early, as we were both hungry, and I thought getting in before the rain came down, down, down.......would be a very good idea.

We were under the shelter of the overhang at the restaurant when the skies opened up!  There were people running for shelter, and trying to duck under the overhang at the Plaza, but the Cast Members explained that is was not possible for them to stand in front of the door, as it was a fire exit.

Our buzzer went off, and we were seated.  It was great to be inside, and great to get something to drink and eat.

Our server was very nice, and told us not to feel rushed.  We took our time eating like everyone else in there was doing so they didn't have to go out in the deluge!

The restaurant is really not very big.  I was very surprised.  I guess with how good the food is, and how many people told me we made a good choice, I thought it would actually be twice the size.

These are the items we ordered for dinner, and the sandwiches were pretty big, and very reasonable in cost.  We opted to not use one of our table service Disney Dining Plan allowances on this, since it was so inexpensive.  We had gift cards to use, so that is what we did.

Paul ordered the Grilled Reuben and he chose french fries.

Grilled Rueben

Thinly Sliced Corned Beef on Grilled Marble Rye with Sauerkraut, Swiss, and Thousand Island Dressing with choice of Broccoli Slaw, Homemade Chips, or French Fries.

I ordered the Plaza Club with the homemade chips!  So glad I did!  They were very good.

Plaza Club

Smoked Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, and Mayonnaise layered on Sourdough Bread with choice of Broccoli Slaw, Homemade Chips, or French Fries.

Below are interior and exterior shots of this location.  It's very pretty inside.  These photos are from the Walt Disney World website.
