Disney on Ice Presents FROZEN

Last night Paul and I went to see Disney on Ice Presents FROZEN at The United Center in Chicago!  It was a wonderful presentation and we are so happy that we went.  As we can't take a trip to Walt Disney World this year, it was nice to see all these great characters right in front of us.

I ordered our tickets a few days before they went on sale to the general public as I had a code to order early.  I am so happy I did!  We were in section 111, center ice, and we were in row 1, seats 1 and 2.  The only people in front of us were in folding chairs of 3 or 4 rows.  Those didn't seem very comfortable, so I am glad we were not sitting there.

There was a little girl behind us that we talked to.  She was with her Mom and Grandma.  Her name was Sarah.....so I have to say Hi to Sarah here as I gave her Mom and Grandma my card with the blog address.  Sarah was dressed in a beautiful Anna costume!  So, HI SARAH!

The show started out with some skaters talking about the show, getting the audience ready and promoting the product from Stonyfield Yogurt.

As the show began, Mickey and Minnie made an appearance, as did a slew of other Disney character such as Goofy, Donald, Ariel and Prince Eric, Snow White and Prince Charming, Cinderella and her Prince Charming, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider, Timon and Pumba, Nemo and Dory, just to name a few.  That was fun to see, but the FROZEN portion of the show was wonderful!

As the first segment starts, it features Grand Pabbie troll explaining the story.

Starting out as a young boy was Kristoff, and a very small Sven and shifting
to the girls started out young as in the movie, with "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?"

They left out the part from the movie about the parents dying, which I was happy about.  There were a lot of little kids in the audience and even though many have seen that part in the movie, I think up close and personal with "real people" skating on the ice, it would have been a little too real for them.

Moving on to Anna skating to "For the First Time in Forever", and into "Love is an Open Door" where she skates with Prince Hans.

Elsa's coronation was a beautiful scene with lots of skaters at the ball.  The Duke of Weselton even had his bad toupee that flopped down when he bowed to the Queen.

On to the older Kristoff and Sven skating to "Reindeer(s) are Better Than People," with Anna coming in to the scene.

Shifting on to Elsa transforming and skating to the beautiful "Let It Go"!  How can one not sing along to that one?!

Olaf makes his appearance, and the place went wild!  Everyone loves Olaf!  When he started skating to "In Summer" he had flowers and other summer items skating with him.

On to Anna and Elsa skating to the reprise of "In the First Time in Forever" and the entrance of the inflatable "Marshmallow" snow monster attack.  There was a little girl a couple rows in front of us that I could see got a little scared with that.  It was awesome to see the creature inflate as it came out.

The venture to see Kristoff's family, the Rock Trolls was a fun tune and skate to ""Fixer Upper."  The trolls were a big hit with the audience.

The return to Arendelle and Elsa being captured by Prince Hans, and Kristoff bringing Anna back.  The scene with Anna and Olaf together, and he says "some people are worth melting for"....always touching to hear.

As the show comes to a close with Anna freezing, she puts on a mask from under her cloak, and her face was then blue like the ice in the movie.  Her cape twinkled to look like ice.  As her sister Queen Elsa hugs her in thanks, for protecting her from the sword of Prince Hans Anna melts and is back to normal.  Elsa then brings back summer, and gives Olaf his own cloud.

The other Disney characters reappear to skate the conclusion of the performance.

The one thing that I was disappointed in was that they left out the scene from the Oaken Trading Post, and I think Oaken would have been a fun addition to the cast of skating characters.

The show overall was absolutely wonderful, so if you have it coming to your area, make sure to get tickets.  You won't be sorry!
