Last week, as you remember we did a deck by deck breakdown of the Disney Dream. We also talked about rotational dining, and the different restaurants in that plan, and last but certainly not least, we covered the two "signature" dining locations on board, PALO and Remy.
This week we will talk about the the casual dining locations, and also look at the different bars and lounges on the ship, and there are quite a few. So, let's dive in!
The first casual dining location we will talk about is Cabanas. For breakfast and lunch it is on the more casual side and serves a collection of fresh food made to order favorites. At dinner time the restaurant transforms into a table service dining room serving main dining specialties. Cabanas is located on Deck 11, aft, and it's atmosphere and decor recalls a breezy Boardwalk along the pacific coast, with a touch of Disney with its Nemo-themed mosaics.
Next we find on our list the "fast food" type locations also on Deck 11, near Donald's Pool. This sections is called Flo's Cafe, and is actually a trio of side-by-side walk up windows, all themed to the characters from the Disney-Pixar film CARS.
There is Luigi's Pizza
Tow Mater's Grill
and Fillmore's Favorites.
Menu items at these locations include pizza, chicken tenders, salads, burgers, sandwich wraps, fruits and more.
After lunch, you really need some dessert, right? So, one can stroll right over to Eye Scream and Frozone Treats. Eye Scream is dedicated to Mike Wazowski from Monster's, Inc., and Frozone Treats pays tribute to Frozone from the Incredibles.
Now, to get to some of the places that we am looking forward to visiting. The Bars, and Lounges.....AKA...no kids! As I have said before, I love kids.....but this trip is meant for relaxing, and these lounges where no one under 18 is allowed, is gonna be the place to do it.
Starting in alphabetical order, we begin with Bon Voyage. This is a casual location that serves beverages and snacks all day long, and is located on deck 3.
Next we come to Cove Cafe. This is a cozy adults only lounge and can be found on all four of the Disney ships. It serves espresso, specialty coffees and has a full bar. Snacks are also available as well as books, magazines and board games that can be used on site.
Evolution Lounge is a butterfly themed spot. Also located in the District entertainment area, it features all types of music, various activities and dance parties. Guests must be 18 to enter, and 21 to imbibe as in all lounges on the ship.
Meridian Bar is located on Deck 12 Aft right across from Palo and Remy. This location offers indoor and outdoor seating. Prior to 6pm jeans and shorts are acceptable. However swimwear and tanks are not. After 6pm the dress code changes quite drastically. Dress pants and shirts or a jacket for men, and dress, skirt or pantsuit for women.
Pink is next on our journey. This is an elegant night spot designed to look like the inside of a champagne bottle. This lounge is located in the District entertainment area on deck 4.
The unique Skyline is located in the District area as well. This is a cosmopolitan bar with majeztic views of famous cities around the world. The "Cityscape" views change on a screen behind the bar as the evening progresses.
687 Sports Bar, is for the ultimate sports fan as this lounge has a satellite feed (often showing more than one game at a time) plus "brewskies", hot dogs, wings (on occasion), and other munchies. 687 is located on Deck 4.
Vista Cafe is the place to go, if you need a jolt of "joe"! Yes, I know...I am a poet........a really bad one, but a poet none the less. It is located on Deck 4, midship. Snacks and cocktails are also served here.
Waves is not an adult only location, and it is a sunny bar located on Deck 12 Aft. This is a breezy spot where guests of all ages can relax with a chilled beverage.
Out of alphabetical order, I saved this next location for the last to talk about. Not only for the fact that The Outlook is located on the highest deck of the ship, 14, but because I cannot wait to check this out. It is considered a cozy cocktail lounge where we will be able to have spectacular seaside views. I am planning on taking many pictures from the location throughout the duration of the cruise.
So, there you have it. Some of the places we will more than likely be spending a great deal of time. At least when you can pull me out of the pool or off a lounge chair. Obviously, we are very excited about this trip, and for good reason. A celebration like this on a total victory over cancer deserves a great time!
Next week, we will come back to talk about what we can expect on our shore excursion, and we will cover a little bit about the spa locations on the ship. I still don't know if I am going to book anything or not. I have a week or so to make up my mind.
Until next week, keep on swimmin!
Gosh... I had no idea there were so many bars and lounges on one ship! How can you choose?
ReplyDeleteGotta try them all........that is our goal anyway!
