RESORT OF THE WEEK- Disney's Art of Animation

I was able to stay at this resort back in 2013 when I did a "solo" trip to Walt Disney World.  I was there for six nights, and enjoyed all the "princess" things I could do on my own and not feel bad for dragging Paul to see all of them.  

I stayed in the Little Mermaid section of the resort with was great.  I also toured around the rest of the areas to see all the great icons and displays that they contained.  

This location is really fun to stay at, but VERY big!  It seemed like it took forever to get to dining and buses from my area.  That was the big drawback.  

The average price per night in the Little Mermaid area which sleep up to four is $150.00 per night, and the family suites in the Finding Nemo, Lion King and Cars areas which sleep up to six, range from about $289.00 to $350.00 per night.  This could vary on the higher end depending on the season.  The family suites include a bedroom with one queen-size bed; one double-size convertible TableBed; one double-size sleeper sofa; living room; 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette.

The dining experience on property is called Landscape of Flavors.  

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, Landscape of Flavors features 5 distinctive food shops serving fresh, made-to-order cuisine. From tasty international fare to classic American favorites, there's something to satisfy everyone at this casual dining venue.  In-room pizza delivery is also available for those looking to dine in.

Take the plunge in the Largest Resort Pool in Walt Disney World Resort. Inspired by the Disney•Pixar movie Finding Nemo, the pool features state-of-the-art underwater speakers—a first for Disney Resort hotels. Additionally, an interactive water play area for little ones is located nearby. 

2 more pools—Cozy Cone Pool, inspired by the Disney•Pixar film Cars, and Flippin’ Fins Pool, featuring the “Under the Sea Orchestra” conducted by Sebastian from The Little Mermaid—are also available to Guests looking to cool off.

 The first set of pictures are from the inside of my room in the Little Mermaid section.  Ariel is my favorite Disney Princess, so of course I had to stay here!  Also, I was alone, and paying almost 3x what I would have here to stay in a family suite would not have been practical.

                   I stayed in the Ursula building!  She was soooooooooo huge!!

  These views looking over at Pop Century across the lake was what I saw everyday out my window.  

                                  Did you know the name of this lake is Hourglass Lake?

This next set of photos is of course from the CARS area of the resort.  

                                       Next we have the Finding Nemo area.  So colorful!!

And last but not least, the Lion King family suite area.  I got to pass through here every time I went to the main lobby, or to eat.
