Throwback Thursday!

This week the Way Back Machine takes us to 2010 and to our dinner at Chef  Mickey's.  It was not the first time for me to dine at this location of course as I had been there a couple times when my kids were younger.  However, it was the first time for Paul.  When I was planning on all of our dining choices for that trip, I just knew we had to have a meal here. Keep in mind, it had been since 1975 since Paul had been to Walt Disney World.  I wanted him to be able to experience the locations that would give him the most fun experiences.

We had spent the day at Animal Kingdom, and this would be the end of our last day on property.  We arrived a little early for dinner, so we checked in and got our pager and then since we were tired out from our day and wanted to relax.  We went to the lounge for cocktails.  Paul had a beer and I had a Pina' Colada....and delicious it was!  We were at the Outer Rim.  We loved this place.  Very relaxing, and love the atmosphere.  Here is a link to the Outer Rim.

After we finished our drinks, our pagers went off and we headed over to dinner.  When we arrived they took our picture.  We love this picture as it kind of indicates the fun in store for the rest of the evening.

We were seated  and met our server who was named Chris.  Pretty easy to remember, right??  After Chris took our drink orders, we had our first visitor to the table.......Chef Goofy!

Good and Paul giving the thumbs up for a fun evening!

Next we got a visit from "Chef Donald".  We had some great interactions with him, and told him we think that the great food was all cooked by him!  He said YES!
I don't have a picture of Donald to share here as it is in a very special photo frame and I can't get it out to scan it.  Since Donald is Paul's favorite, we have him in some special places around our home.

Next was a visit from Minnie!  She is so sweet and so very photogenic!

Last but never least, we were visited by the Big Cheese himself...........Chef Mickey!  We just love these pictures!  Love the personal interaction with the characters at this location.

The final picture from the night is Paul and I with the special "Happy Honeymoon" cupcakes that our server Chris brought to us.  :-)  That is what is so special about Disney.  They don't miss the small details that can make your trip even more magical!

I hope you enjoyed seeing our experiences at Chef Mickey's!

Join us again next week when we take another trip in the "Way Back Machine!"

Disney Picture of the Day

Todays Disney Picture from the Parks from Moments of the Magic by Joe Diebold - When they say nighttime is so magical at the park - they really aren't kidding. One of the best places to sit and take it all in is from the Cinderella fountain next to the castle.

Throwback Thursday!

In this weeks journey in the "Way Back Machine," we go back to just this past May.  Just 6 short months ago I was in my favorite place on earth.  6 short months, but it seems so long ago already, as I am still suffering from PDD.......
I am sure you have all suffered from this at one point or another, right?

This last trip was my first solo trip.  My first venture to Walt Disney World alone.  No husband, no kids, but was I really "alone"?  Of course not!  Even though I spent some quality time with me, myself and I,  the fact is,  I was able to meet up with several of my "Disney pals" while I was there.

Here are some of the memories I have my meeting up with friends!

My meet with Shelley Benhoff, and Amy Petermann!  What a fun evening we had together at Epcot!  This was the first time I was able to meet Shelley!  What a sweetheart she is!

The very next day, I got to be with Amy again, and this was with her daughter, and another pal, Brent Dodge.  We had fun at STAR TOURS day....May the 4th Be With You!

The next day, it was on to Epcot and meeting up with my friend Beatrice Feeney. We had a fun time that day!

Here we are meeting Mulan in China!

also with Belle at Akershur!

The following day, I had breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table.  Afterwards, I met up with Amy again, and we spent a good part of the day together.

Amy and I enjoyed lunch together at Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Beasts Castle!

I hope you enjoyed my memories with friends!  See you again next week for Throwback Thursday!  Ya just never know how far back the Way Back Machine will send us!

Throwback Thursday!

This week in Throwback Thursday we go back just a year to 2012 when we took our big dual Disney trip to Walt Disney World and our Cruise aboard the Disney Dream.  I was thinking to myself this morning that we would be coming home from our cruise tomorrow if this was last year.  Well, it's not last year...and here we are, just a short year later.  Man, how time flies, huh???

We stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside resort.  Not one of my favorite of all I have been able to stay at, but nice none the less.  I really think I prefer the smaller French Quarter.  It suites my needs much  better.

Please enjoy the pictures from that trip found below!!
