FOODIE FRIDAY! Earl of Sandwich at the Downtown Disney District

1565 S Disneyland Dr
Ste. 102
Anaheim, CA 92802

Earl of Sandwich.  I always associate this location with Walt Disney World, and Disney Springs.  Now, I have been educated that they are a chain and one is located at Disneyland at the Downtown Disney District there.

I know many will be surprised, but I have never taken the time to go to Earl of Sandwich on the Walt Disney World property.  There are just so many other places to eat down there!!

Earl of Sandwich is a place where you will find a celebration of the history of the sandwich and the family credited with creating it.   According to the Disneyland website:

The Story Behind the Sandwich

John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, was known for many things before devising this most revolutionary food. As First Sea Lord, he commanded the venerable British Navy and was also a noted explorer.
But lore has it that his love of gambling, often from day into night, led Montagu to put meat between 2 slices of bread so that he could satisfy his need for nourishment without stepping away from the card table. This ingenious idea quickly caught on when savvy cohorts began requesting “the same as Sandwich!” In 1762, the world’s first fast food was named after its creator, John Montagu, the Earl of Sandwich—and the rest, as they say, is history.
Some 250 years later, the current 11th Earl and the Sandwich family continue a proud family tradition of crafting quality sandwiches using only the freshest ingredients, making it easy for anyone, earl or otherwise, to enjoy a great meal on the go.

I don't know if I will make it to the one in California either, but here is the lunch menu they offer.
